I said, "I need a reason to wake up in the morning."
She laughed, like I was joking...which...partly I was of course. But there was truth in it. I then began to realize that there's probably something missing. Well, actually, in response to her laughter, I said, "WHY IS THAT FUNNY!"
But then I followed with, "I think something's missing."
"What was your reason before?" She asked, recovering from the chuckles.
I had the answer. But then my brain decided to fry itself at that very moment and I didn't say anything. Instead I said, "I don't know."
And once I said that, I was startled by its innocent honesty.
